Prayas is a small effort by the employees of e-Zest Solutions, an Offshore Software Development Company, to bring positive changes in the lives of the underprivileged. 'Prayas' is a Hindi word, derived from Sanskrit, meaning Endeavor. The name of a group represents the spirit behind its formation, purpose and activities. The group wish to make an effort and contribution towards improving the level and spread of education and information in rural area.

Prayas has identified two major activities under this umbrella. First is Computer Education in rural area and the other is Cultural Awareness & Recreational activity. Actiing on the first one, last Saturday, group members went to Pirangut village school near Pune and tried to interact with students and spared some time with them for awareness of computer and explained them importance of computer. Mr. Umesh Kulkarni, Business Development Manager, who was heading this group said, "It was really encouraging response from the Headmaster and students. This is only start and we are planning to implement the same in another 55 schools".

Prayas wants to direct its efforts towards meaningful and sustainable improvements instead of temporary relief. The projects and activities supported by Prayas are focused on planned human and social development instead of random charity. It has done tie-up with Sarvangin Vikas Sanstha to offer training and awareness of computer education to rural schools.
