£14m development announces Wolverhampton company’s arrival on the housing scene - A new name is promising to revolutionise the West Midlands’ residential housing market after starting work on its first scheme in Shrewsbury. Radbrook Homes, which has its headquarters in Wolverhampton, is just days into initial construction work on a £14m development, which will provide 55 apartments and 5 luxury homes for a range of buyers. It is an ambitious first step for the company and marks its intention to compete with the more established players through an ability to deliver the right properties in the right area at the right price. Angela Bath, the driving force behind the new business, picked up the story: “There is a major opportunity in the housing market at the moment to provide homes that can cover the complete spectrum of ‘desires’, whether it is for first time buyers looking to make that difficult step onto the property ladder to the top end of the market where luxury meets location.” Built on the former grounds of the Radbrook Hall Hotel, the development comprises 55, 1 and 2-bed apartments, which have all been designed in keeping with the local architect and surroundings.

Angie Bath looks forward to a positive future for Radbrook
behind the new business, picked up the story:
“There is a major opportunity in the housing market at the moment to provide homes that can cover the complete spectrum of ‘desires’, whether it is for first time buyers looking to make that difficult step onto the property ladder to the top end of the market where luxury meets location.”
Built on the former grounds of the Radbrook Hall Hotel, the development comprises 55, 1 and 2-bed apartments, which have all been designed in keeping with the local architect and surroundings.
The properties – starting at £179,500 – will provide both an ideal opportunity for first time buyers and ‘downsizers’ to purchase quality homes in one of Shrewsbury’s most buoyant residential areas.
“Although the site has only been open for a few days, we’ve already had a lot of interest from investors and local people keen to find out more – in fact it wouldn’t surprise me if at least half the scheme is bought off plan,” continued Angela.
“Its location is a superb plus and gives you a sense of being close enough to the country, whilst being at the heart of a thriving business community. We have also tried to give the site its own identity and this is reflected in the ‘prestigious’ five-bedroom homes that are synonymous with luxury and quality of life. They will prove a real focal point for anyone visiting the scheme.”
The £14m development is the first in Radbrook’s fledging portfolio and signals the company’s desire to actively secure land within the Shropshire, Mid-Wales and Southern Staffordshire areas.
Each ‘potential’ site will be judged on its individual merits, with the firm keen to purchase locations in town/city centres and in more rural areas.
“There is so much competition out there in the residential sector that we need to try and bring something different to the marketplace and this is going to be reflected in our ethically driven approach to construction work, design and through all our dealings with the customer.”
Angela concluded: “I suppose we want people to stay with us throughout their life, from buying that first home to perhaps looking at the huge benefits that can be secured from a retirement property.”
Radbrook Homes, which expects to invest £20m into the local area, is set to announce the name of the construction company shortly.
