Ultrafiltration systems even more cost-competitive – inge AG launches new rack design - inge’s brand-new T-Rack saves up to 5% of investment costs With its patented and unique Multibore® membranes and the dizzer® module series, the internationally active inge AG from Germany has been able to position itself as technology leader in the ultrafiltration market for drinking, process and waste water in recent years. Now the company has launched a further, newly-developed innovation: a novel rack design, called ”T-Rack“. The new rack has been optimized in a way that it represents an enormous improvement both tech-nologically and economically in comparison with conventional rack designs for the installation of modules. In the new design, 8 dizzer®5000plus modules, each with 50 m2 of membrane surface area, are combined to form one basic unit. Utilising this basic 8 module unit, racks with more than 100 modules can be in-stalled.

designs for the installation of modules. In the new design, 8 dizzer®5000plus modules, each with 50 m2 of membrane surface area, are combined to form one basic unit. Utilising this basic 8 module unit, racks with more than 100 modules can be in-stalled. The scalability can be achieved due to the hydrodynamic optimization of the basic unit. Thus, a total treatment capacity of approximate 500 m3 per hour is possible from a single rack. Depending on how much water needs to be treated, the basic size of the rack can also be designed on a flexible and custom-ized basis.

The module placement in the rack is very compact, offering tremendous saving in space. The piping sys-tem is already integrated with the modules, so that additional piping system is not required. Moreover, the piping system is - like the module housing - made of cost-efficient PVC. This not only saves cost but also secures a safe and stable operation when there is a more difficult feed water, such as aggressive industrial water or sea water. In most designs today stainless steel piping is used which can corrode in some circum-stances. The enormous save spacing by using the T-Rack pays off: a conventional rack design requires up to twice the footprint of the new T-Rack. Depending on the size of the plant, the investment cost for the total ultrafil-tration system can be reduced by up to 5% or more using the new T-Rack solution of inge AG.
