An Academy Award winning actress and the first African-American Miss America have become the latest women inducted into the Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame. Diane Keaton and Vanessa Williams join a growing list of women who are recognized as baby boomers on the move and making a difference by Web of Fame Founder Beverly Mahone. “Diane Keaton is like a fine wine,” says Mahone. “She keeps getting better and better with age. We have enjoyed her work since the 1970s and she shows no signs of slowing down.” The four-time Academy Award nominated actress won an Oscar for her role in Annie

Hall in 1977 and received the Golden Globe award in 2003 for the movie, Something’s Gotta Give. But her talent goes beyond acting says Mahone, who also points out Keaton’s skills as a photographer. “Diane Keaton sets the standard by which younger actresses should be eager to follow,” contends Mahone.

The same goes for singer/actress Vanessa Williams who Mahone says gets more beautiful with age. "Vanessa has proven, more than once, that you can bounce back from adversity and climb even higher to the top of the mountain.” Williams is one of the most respected and multi-faceted performers in entertainment today. She has conquered the musical charts, Broadway, music videos, television and motion pictures. She has sold over four million albums worldwide and her skills as an actress on stage, in film and on television have earned praise from the most seasoned of critics. She currently co-stars in the hit television comedy Ugly Betty.

Mahone, author of the book Whatever! A Baby Boomer’s Journey Into Middle Age, connected with Williams and Keaton on MySpace and invited them to join the Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame. The idea for a Web of Fame was created by Mahone, who says she wanted to make sure women 40 and beyond weren’t overlooked for their accomplishments. “Hollywood and the media want us to believe you have to be young and beautiful to be successful but that’s simply not true,” according to Mahone. Keaton and Williams join celebrities Natalie Cole and Jaisun McMillian as members of the Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame. To view the entire group of Divas, visit Ms. Mahone’s website.
