Press Release from:
Florida Intrastate Transportation Alliance
Representing the interest of motor carriers utilizing limousines, vans, small buses and other forms of non-public transportation plus travel professionals and the traveling consumer, the Florida Intrastate Transportation Alliance (FITA) is kicking off an aggressive recruiting drive.

"Local limousine and ground transportation associations are geared towards regulatory action that creates protective and restictive barriers of larger metro areas that inhibits intrastate transportation". Explains FITA President Walter Kozak, "The FITA mission is to agressively attack all elements
engaged in promoting extortion tactics that inhibits the free flow of interstate and intrastate commerce and travel."

FITA members are currently engaged in or are putting the finishing touches on soon-to-be-filed civil complaints and additional complaints to be filed under FITA are in the information gathering and drafting process.

FITA's membership drive is geared towards motor carriers based in smaller communities servicing residents more reliant on non-public forms of intrastate transportation. Continues Kozak, "What we have in Florida is a situation where the State Transportation Agencies have failed to provide residents of smaller communities, intrastate public transportation and thereby making residents reliant on non-public forms of transportation especially to and from the major interstate transportation hubs. The State has also failed to curtail the practice of every local regulator desiring to do so imposing restrictions, licensing and fees on non-public motor carriers entering jurisdictions simply to load prearranged and/or chartered intrastate traveling passengers. This infringes on the citizens rights of travel, the motor carrier's ability to provide service and expand his or her business potential and violates federal and state intrastate transportation statutes."

The FITA encourages motor carriers and travel professionals who are fustrated with local restrictions, extortion fees and proving good moral character over and over by means of multiple licensing and background checks to join our ranks and fight for your business livelihood. Represented by the likes of noted Attorney Luke Lirot, members of the FITA are committed to holding local regulators accountable for their actions.
