Press Release from:
Torsten Zimmermann
11th of May 2007, Torsten Zimmermann spoke at the Developer Day Karlsruhe convention. His T2 speech attracked postive attentions. In his speech, Torsten Zimmermann explained the history and the development roadmap from T1 to T2 test framework. He focused on the XML based tool independent T2 TML (Test Modeling Language). The T2 TML supports script creation, maintenance, and display without any test tool know-how. Besides of that, costly migrations from manual to automated test processes are not needed any more. On the other side, investments in framework, infrastructure, and employee
qualifications are very high. Concerning qualifications, the available test standards with their certification concepts cannot currently support the needed T2 know-how level. Thus they can only be regarded as some basic trainings.
Vita: In 1993, Torsten Zimmermann begun his career after successful pass of the business related computer science study at the University of Applied Sciences Karlsruhe. Since 1995, he dealed with the topics software quality and test management within international projects at (e.g.) BMW, DaimlerChysler, Hewlett-Packard, and Hoffmann-La Roche. Besides of that, he invented the risk based test approach released at the "QZ" magazine. Due to practical quality management work his conclusions lead to the T1 TFT (Test Framework Technologies), which initiates a new generation of test systems. Today, Torsten Zimmermann develops new concepts for more powerful test frameworks. Within his university network new solutions will be developed in the area of rule and model based test systems.
