Tawam Hospital, the UAE’s premier health care facility which is affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine, a world-class medical institution based in the USA, is demonstrating its range of cutting-edge healthcare facilities at Arab Health 2007 being held at the Dubai International Exhibition Center from January 29-February 1.

Among the latest developments of Tawam Hospital-Johns Hopkins Medicine that will be highlighted during Arab Health include, the new Cardiac Catheterization and Angiography Suite that provides specialist treatment for heart-related
and vascular ailments; the soon-to-be opened state of the art intensive care unit and an expanded oncology special medical unit.

The 469-bed Tawam Hospital is the Middle East’s first medical facility with affiliation to Johns Hopkins Medicine and is preferred for the specialist treatment it offers, particularly in oncology, family medicine, fertility services and intensive care.

Tawam Hospital is currently undertaking expansion work on the Tawam Oncology Services, by upgrading its medical and management information system. It is eyeing a summer groundbreaking for its Oncology Hospital, and the new multi-disciplinary comprehensive Oncology inpatient unit will open in early February, making us the largest cancer centre in the region. Additionally, ten new state-of-the-art operating rooms combining latest design with technology are planned for this year.

Recently, Tawam Hospital hosted a high level delegation of visiting Otolaryngologists during a one-day medical education symposium. The delegation, comprised of experts from Johns Hopkins Medicine, visited the Al-Ain based medical facility to give medical lectures regarding the diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, throat, head and neck disorders.

The four-day Arab Health event is the premier health care exhibition for the Middle East, showcasing technological developments aimed at contributing to the spread of advanced medical solutions. Over 2,200 exhibiting companies from 67 countries are taking part in Arab Health 2007, which is expected to attract over 33,000 visitors.
