Second Baby Boomer Celebrity Inducted into Diva Web of Fame

A member of the once popular girls group, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, has become the newest celebrity inducted into the Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame. “It gives me great pleasure to welcome Jaisun McMillian into this illustrious group of baby boomer women,” says baby boomer author and the Diva Web of Fame Founder Beverly Mahone. McMillian has enjoyed a long-standing career as a singer, songwriter and producer. Along with the Vandellas, she was also a member of the doo-wop group known as The Platters.

Mahone says the idea to create a Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame came to

her when she looked around and saw all of the talented women over 40. “Hollywood and the media want us to believe a woman has to be young and beautiful to be successful but that’s simply not true, argues Mahone. “By the time we reach 40-years-old, we are in the prime of our lives. We’ve overcome obstacles. We’re more focused.” According to Mahone, Jaisun exemplifies what is means to be a part of the Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame. “She has overcome her own trials and tribulations which included domestic violence; yet she is continuing to press forward to make a positive difference in the world, ” says Mahone.

McMillian’s more recent accomplishments are as an author, screenwriter, director, and playwright. Her book, Behind Closed Doors stems from the riveting stage play, The Anatomy Of A Woman Abused: One Woman’s Journey, which is presently touring the East Coast. The film version of Behind Closed Doors, is in pre-production. McMillian joins fellow baby boomer celebrity Natalie Cole as a member of the Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame.
