Ryan Boyle, a native of Hunt Valley, Md., and a 2004 graduate of Princeton University, is one of 15 people featured in the newly-released book Weekend Warriors, The Men of Professional Lacrosse, the first-ever book about professional lacrosse players. Boyle, an entrepreneur who is the founding partner of the Baltimore-based lacrosse camp and education company Trilogy Lacrosse, is a currently a standout player for the New York Titans of the National Lacrosse League and the Philadelphia Barrage of Major League Lacrosse. Written by Jack McDermott of Tallahassee, Fla., Warriors is a compilation of
short life stories of 15 pro players who star in the National Lacrosse League and the outdoor league, Major League Lacrosse.
“It’s a fun and fascinating read for those who want to learn more about the heroes of North America’s oldest and fastest-growing sport,” said New Chapter Press Publisher Ewing Walker “There’s a charm with professional lacrosse in that the stars on the field are also heroes and role models off the field as school teachers, firemen, businessmen and community leaders,” said McDermott. “Lacrosse players are ordinary people with ordinary jobs who just happen to have extra-ordinary abilities as lacrosse players.” Other featured players save people from burning buildings, arrest criminals after high speed car chases, protect nuclear facilities from terrorists and teach children in school.
