Providing new views in the vehicle area with the automotive display aDP800 - Maisach/Munich/Germany. Corresponding to the special demands in the automotive area BMC Messsysteme GmbH (bmcm) introduces the automotive display aDP800 of their product range for embedded PC technology. Particularly suitable for mobile use in research, test and development measurement data and signals can be visualized directly on-site. Owners of a notebook, hoping at a bright summer day to do their PC work outside, know the problem: in daylight conditions hardly anything can be recognized on the monitor screen. Besides that, a monitor has to meet further special requirements if it comes to applications in the vehicle field.

applications in the vehicle field. Whose PC working environment is vibrating, suddenly slowed down or exposed to variations in temperature of up to 80°C?

All these aspects were considered in particular, when developing the automotive display aDP800 from BMC Messsysteme GmbH (bmcm). A very bright and high-contrast 10'' display, optimized for 800x600 resolution, makes measuring data and signals clearly visible. Extremely important during test runs is the automatic brightness control. Controlled by a light sensor the display is adjusted automatically to different light conditions. In many situations the easy operation is of decisive advantage. Therefore the brightness is regulated manually not only via the OSD menu, but also directly with a brightness regulator. Integrated in a temperature-resistant plastic housing the aDP800 stands for durability, robustness and compactness - qualities technical instruments must feature particularly in the automotive area.

The countersunk connectors at the backside of the aDP800, for example, provide for a good protection of all connections (VGA, DVI, speaker, power supply, 5V auxiliary supply) to the outside. The aDP800 can be operated in the extended temperature range of -20°C to +60°C. An automatic fan control protects against extreme temperatures caused by direct sun light. To guarantee a safe installation the monitor is fixed with screws. The display mounting is designed in 75mm Vesa standard. Embedded PC technology for the automotive sector requires compact and practicable solutions. That's what the products of the manufacturer of innovative measurement and PC technology "made in Germany" BMC Messsysteme GmbH (bmcm) stand for.
