New search engine formula threatens to topple search engine king Google - Google spends a lot of money in R&D. In 2006 alone, they spent a staggering $1.2 billion on R&D. But just as Google came from nowhere (two students in their school dorm) to beat Yahoo!, so does the risk lie for somebody to come from behind and upstage Google. Is this threat real? UK Phd student John Gekas has been working hard at doing just that.
