New Forum for ACEO Art Cards

Pheebay Forums have launched a complete new forum for all aspects of creating, advertising and trading ACEO Art Cards. Just like fans collect soccer, baseball or even cigarette cards in the UK, art aooreciators collect art cards of their favorite artists or artwork. A collectible art card is a small pocket-sized piece of art. Commonly known as ACEO (an acronym for Art Cards, Editions & Originals) as well as ATC (Artist Trading Cards). ATC cards are usually traded between artists but also have their collectors. ACEOs are much more widely purchased and collected. An ACEO art card can be original

artwork or prints of original artwork. The cards are bought, sold and traded globally on P2P and auction sites like eBay and eCrater. The official standard size of an art card is 2.5" x 3.5" (64 x 89 mm) and any cards that don't meet this strict size criteria may not be considered as collectible ACEOs however appealing they may be visually. There are three main categories of ACEO art cards...

Open Edition: Prints or reproductions of artwork that are produced to the standard size. Open editions can be reprinted in ever increasing numbers as demand dictates. There is no limit placed on how many will be produced. These are commonly miniature prints of a much larger original artwork. Limited Edition: These are also a print/reproduction but there is a strict limit on the numbers produced and sold. These cards are naturally more collectable and, therefore, more expensive. Limited edition cards will usually be numbered and signed on the back by the creator. Original Artwork: This type of card, as it's name suggests, is a unique piece of artwork which can never be repeated exactly. It may be a painting, drawing, photograph or digital image but it has to be entirely original with only one such card existing in the world. Signed confirmation of this status is usually written on the reverse by the creator and, predictably, this type of card is usually the most valuable.

Pheebay say this forum has been started because of the growing number of art card collectors and artists we have visiting Pheebay. We wanted to create a place where they could post images of their work or purchases and detail their willingness to produce a card or publicise their precise collecting theme.
