Nashville, Tenn. --- The creators of CoolPeopleCare.org, a philanthropic Web site based in Nashville, Tenn., announced today the expansion of the Web site to Charleston, South Carolina. The addition is part of CoolPeopleCare's month long initiative to expand the site into 30 new cities during the month of June. The initiative is called "CoolPeopleCare's 30/30." Charleston is the 15th featured city for CoolPeopleCare that highlights the little things individuals can do to improve their community. The site also lists nonprofit and charitable events for each city. In order to launch in South
Carolina, CoolPeopleCare is partnering with Trio Solutions Inc., a Charleston-based marketing firm that has a long history of working with nonprofits.
“As soon as we heard about CoolPeopleCare we wanted to get involved and help bring the initiative to Charleston,” says Jessica Munday, president and founder of Trio Solutions Inc. "Partnering with Trio in order to better serve our Charleston users is a testament to the power of the Internet to create strategic partnerships. With just a few e-mails and a phone call, we were able to add Charleston as part of our community," Sam Davidson, president and co-founder of the CoolPeopleCare, explains. “Charleston is a cool city with cool people and a place where this initiative will undoubtedly benefit the community,” says Jessica Munday. “After living here for eleven years and working with numerous nonprofit organizations in the area, I have come to find that the people who make this city so great truly care about making a difference. CoolPeopleCare will be a perfect fit!” Each day during the month of June, a new city will be added to the site, and that community's charitable events and volunteer opportunities will be listed. As part of the campaign, users can vote on the 30th city to be added during the month. The winner will be announced on Friday, June 22, and will go live on June 30. "We get visitors to our site from all over the United States," says Davidson. "In order to provide a high quality online experience for all of our users, we feel it is time to add many more cities across the country. Charleston is a very important addition for us." The Web site's signature feature, "5 Minutes of Caring," is a 99-word daily article featuring helpful hints, practical tips and links to inform readers of the many ways in which they may make a difference in less than five minutes a day. Those who come for this information are directed toward ways to make a difference in their local communities.
