Let's Celebrate Father's Day! - “Any man can be a father, but it takes a special person to be a dad”. Father’s Day started with the idea for creating a day for children to honour their fathers. In 1910, a woman in Washington by the name of Sonora Smart Dodd thought of the idea for Father's Day as an official day to celebrate the special person called ‘dad’. In 1926, a National Father's Day Committee was formed in New York City and thereafter the custom spread across the world. Thanks to the lady, the world now has an official day to celebrate the spirit of fatherhood – the spirit of loving, giving and sacrificing that a father upholds.
