“Any man can be a father, but it takes a special person to be a dad”. Father’s Day started with the idea for creating a day for children to honour their fathers. In 1910, a woman in Washington by the name of Sonora Smart Dodd thought of the idea for Father's Day as an official day to celebrate the special person called ‘dad’. In 1926, a National Father's Day Committee was formed in New York City and thereafter the custom spread across the world. Thanks to the lady, the world now has an official day to celebrate the spirit of fatherhood – the spirit of loving, giving and sacrificing
that a father upholds. Nowadays Father’s Day is celebrated across the world in accordance with the customs and practices of the region. India, along with most countries, celebrates Father’s Day on the third Sunday of June.
They say that a father is someone who has replaced the currency in his wallet with the snapshots of his kids. Well, hardly anyone can deny chanting “Dad I want this” everytime something caught his/her fancy He is supposed to know our choices, our most wanted lists and our favourite flavours. He is not supposed to return from travel empty handed and he is not allowed to miss the weekend outings. Thankfully, Father’s Day brings us an occasion to say that we too know his choices and likes. Gifting a father is a ceremony in itself. You better have his wish list ready before you set to shop. And better shop where you can immerse yourself in variety. Meticulously go through the items, taking the same sweet time that you took when you made him wait for selecting your first bicycle. To celebrate Father’s Day, Indiatimes Shopping has created a special catalogue for the occasion. The catalogue has been exclusively designed to promote gifts & special offers across a wide range of product categories - Apparels and Accessories, Electronics, Home Appliances, Gifts, Flowers, Sports (Golf Accessories and camping equipments), Books, Music, Movies, Health and Beauty. Our huge discounts and offers on this catalogue will make sure that nothing comes in the way of picking your favourite gift.
