Learner Autonomy
The ELP has a reporting and a pedagogical function. Represents information about the owner’s experince of learning and using second/foreign languages and concrete evidence of language learning achievement. Helps to make language learning more transparent to learners, developing their capacity for reflection and self-assessment, and thus enabling them gradually to assume more and more responsibility for their own learning. (In this way it serves as a tool for promoting the development of learner autonomy.) Learning depends on partnership. (Little,1991; Dam,1995)
