Press Release from:
LDIAMON AS
Ldiamon presented a unique product for direct Kt/V and entire haemodialysis treatment monitoring at EDTA, Barcelona, June 2007.
LDIAMON has participated in its second EDTA meeting (European Dialysis & Transplantation Association) in Barcelona 2007. The LDIAMON introduced new and unique products at this meeting to a large number of highly interested physicians and international distributors. Distribution contracts are agreed for six major countries, including France, UK and China, expecting a great start of DiaSens, monitoring Kt/V and additionally also
provide a “road map” of the entire dialysis treatment.
“We are extremely pleased by the huge interest shown at the meeting, not only from physicians and international distributors – but also from major global manufacturers of haemodialysis products. This interest convinced us that our principle of direct and continuous monitoring is preferable compared to using calculations of intermittent and non-direct monitoring of vital parameters during a haemodialysis treatment. Especially since our method also provides a “road map” of the entire treatment!” Thore Falkvall, CEO of LDIAMON thore@ldiamon.eu , summarises his impression. Reinhold H. Herbst reinhold@ldiamon.eu , member of the Ldiamon advisory board, says “The unique technology that LDIAMON has invented is a great improvement for patients and physicians. Additionally it may also satisfy upcoming reimbursement schemes from governments and health care insurance companies from where more or direct data might be required. Furthermore, about 400.000 haemodialysis machines in use can now be upgraded with state of the art functions and thereby improve the performance of these machines significantly!” LDIAMON AS is an Estonian company within the field of medical technology focusing on haemodialysis. It was founded in 2005 as a joint venture of the high tech Laser Diagnostic Instruments Group in Estonia and a Swedish group of scientists.
