Each year approximately $10 million of KS unclaimed funds is returned to the rightful owners. While this is progress in returning the money it is only 5% of the unclaimed money being held. The new amount of lost funds deposited into Kansas unclaimed money pool annually was $30.8 million in 2005 and $21.8 million in 2006. Citizens nationwide need to search to see if they are owed a portion of the Kansas unclaimed money. There is currently 928,303 people owned an unclaimed funds check from Kansas lost money fund.

Bill McIntosh, Founder of cashunclaimed, stated, “With 1 out of 3 people in Kansas owed money everyone should search to how much they are owed. I would take those odds any day. Most people make the mistake of only searching their own name. They should also search for their family members and friends.” When searching utilize a database that searches for money in Kansas and nationwide and that searches for variations of your legal name. Statutorily it can take up to 90 days to receive an unclaimed money check after a claim has been submitted it is currently only taking about 18 days.

Cashunclaimed.com is the largest unclaimed money database, including all state and federal databases. CashUnclaimed.com was founded to assist owners in easily locating and claiming their lost funds. The site offers more information on unclaimed money and free unclaimed money search at www.cashunclaimed.com. At this time KS Unclaimed funds checks take about 18 days to process.
