Hiroshima anniversary Aug. 6: How top secret story got written and released - ATLANTA, Ga. – On Aug. 6, the world observes the 62nd anniversary of the first wartime use of an atom bomb. The target of the bomb, dropped from a B-29 named Enola Gay, was Hiroshima. The 9,000-pound bomb, nicknamed Little Boy, along with a second weapon, Fat Man, dropped at Nagasaki a few days later, brought World War II to a quick end.
