Johnna Petras, 51, was allegedly tired of his wife’s constant nagging and whining and had once famously bragged to his friends in a drunken stupor that he could easily shut his wife’s mouth forever and nobody would ever know.

everybody that he and his wife were going on a much needed vacation in the northern part of the African continent and that they would be trekking in the Sahara for a week using rented camels.

But in fact, what Johnna was planning was a “dumping” trip. He planned to kill his wife in the desert and dump her there. More than 5,000 miles away from home.

The plan went horribly wrong for him when his wife, who was packing their luggage one day discovered a return ticket. One return ticket.

Sensing and having heard rumors at one of their house parties that her husband had ulterior motives, Johnna’s wife purchased a dagger (all she could afford at the time) and rat poison.

She then slowly started putting the rat poison in his meals in small quantities to avoid detection.

Over time, Johnna slowly started getting sick and on one occasion had to be rushed to the emergency room where he was diagnosed with food poisoning. Luckily for him, Johnna survived the incident.

It was then that Johnna noticed that he would immediately get sick every single time he ate a meal prepared by his wife. He assumed that she was either on to him or that she also wanted to get rid of him.

He decided he couldn’t wait any longer and that the time had come to get rid of her.

Enlisting the services of his close friend, Peter, Johnna lured his wife (who was a homemaker) out of the house by having Peter go up to the house and tell her that her husband, Johnna had been taken ill and was in the hospital requesting for her.

His wife who was entertaining friends at the time, feigned shock and appeared genuinely distraught and quickly got in the car with Peter. But instead of driving her to the hospital, Peter drove her to a rented warehouse where Johnna was waiting.

Things suddenly turned ugly for Johnna when all of a sudden, his friend Peter pulled out a gun and turned on him and said that he and Johnna’s wife had been having an affair and that it was time for him (Johnna) to say good bye.

Johnna went down on his knees, begging for his life, and in a moment of weakness for Peter, he let down his guard. It was then that Johnna overpowered him, escaped and went to the police station.

Peter and Johnna’s wife are still on the loose.
