Genital Warts: HPV - the hidden cancer
|
Press Release from:
Chesney Desrosiers
Genital Warts are the physical manifestation of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). They are highly contagious and are sexually transmitted.
Only 10% of genital warts are visible. 70% of all cases of cervical cancer are caused by a mere two sub-types of the Human Papilloma virus (HPV). There are more than 150 types of HPV. Without regular papsmears, the cell mutation causd by the wart virus on the transformation zone of the cervix can go undetected. The result is cervical cancer. Worldwide, cervical cancer is the 2nd most common cancer in women with over 233,000 deaths every year, and 470,000 new cases diagnosed.
On average, there are 9,700 new cases of cervical cancer and more than 3500 deaths attributed to it in the USA every year. There is growing concern among the medical fraternity that cases of cervical cancer are likely to increase as they see a drop in women attending regular papsmears. Internal Genital Warts require surgery. External Genital Warts can be treted via cryosurgery, electrocautery, prescription medication or alternative natural treatments.
