Described by the fashion specialists as one of the most beautiful black top-models in the world, Dji Dieng was taking off her busy schedule to come and spend two weeks in Sri Lanka, this to support and help actively for the different tourist and UNESCO projects. She arrived on the 14th of July 2006, where she was welcomed by His Excellency the French Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Jean-Bernard De Vaivre, for the celebration of the French National Day, and she returned to Paris on the 27th July 2006 after the audience with His Excellency the Minister of Tourism of Sri Lanka, Hon. Anura Bandaranaike and the Press Conference with the Tourist Board and UNESCO at the Ministry of Tourism, with the Print Media and Televisions. During her stay in Sri Lanka she has visit and experienced some attractions of the UNESCO World Heritage, including Habarana, Sigiriya, Dambulla, Pollonnaruwa and Matale, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and the National Park of Yala, under co-organisation of Aitken Spence Travels.

Day, and she returned to Paris on the 27th July 2006 after the audience with His Excellency the Minister of Tourism of Sri Lanka, Hon. Anura Bandaranaike and the Press Conference with the Tourist Board and UNESCO at the Ministry of Tourism, with the Print Media and Televisions.

During her stay in Sri Lanka she has visit and experienced some attractions of the UNESCO World Heritage, including Habarana, Sigiriya, Dambulla, Pollonnaruwa and Matale, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and the National Park of Yala, under co-organisation of Aitken Spence Travels.

The Secretary General UNESCO, Mr. P. R. Perera met her to discuss the progress of the UNESCO projects in Sri Lanka, which has resulted in developing Tourism and thereby, employment and poverty alleviation in the districts concerned.

Dji’s active participation in humanitarian projects relating to children, culture and science, HIV, made her concentrate in assisting the less privileged children and victims of the tsunami tragedy in Sri Lanka. She also visited the UNESCO Village, a children’s home in Nanathota – Kasgoda.

Chairman Sri Lanka Tourist Board, Mr. Udaya Nanayakkara said:
“through Dji’s popularity in the world, we may have the opportunity in organizing projects for the benefit of the children in Sri Lanka”.

Dji was also meeting the Hon. Minister of Tourism, Anura Bandaranaike, on the 25th of July 2006, to discuss further matters with regard to spreading the good story of Sri Lanka Globally.

In her own words Dji spoke about her experience in Sri Lanka:
“I am amazed with the rich culture which dates back so many 1,000 of years in time. People in Sri Lanka are truly wonderful – they are friendly people. I will promote the amazing country, the great culture and the wonderful people’s image throughout the world. I am convinced that my positive image and my active support for the children and people will have its positive replies for the benefit of the peace for the Sri Lankan people! Peace to Sri Lanka and the World!”

UNESCO Secretary General, Mr. R. P. Perera would like to become Dji as new Ambassadress, this to promote with her immaculate image the concerns of UNESCO – Education – Science – Culture, including the UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITES.
