Is your food making you ill and overweight?
Food sensitivities are becoming more and more common and if, like the rest of us, you are feeling a bit lethargic or overweight after the excesses of Christmas, now is the time to eliminate any foods that don’t agree with you. The Alcat food sensitivity test enables you to detect the foods that disagree with you, setting you on the right track for a healthy year. Food sensitivities can have an influence on: · Obesity and weight retention · Skin problems like eczema and acne · Hay fever and rhinitis · Panic attacks · Asthma · Arthritis · Depression and fatigue · Headaches · Chronic diarrhoea and irritable bowel syndrome Weight Loss Many people who have found it impossible to lose weight using normal methods found that their weight gain was actually due to food sensitivity and, by eliminating the food substances that irritated them, they shed the extra pounds. Skin Problems Consistent skin problems and eczema are often traced back to food allergies. For many people who have tried all sorts of creams and oils, it is only when they remove the offending foods from their diets that their skin miraculously clears up. Depression and Fatigue When the body is struggling against a substance that it does not agree with, it can often make you feel very depressed and lethargic. As a prime example many people can feel sluggish after lunch without realising that this could be a reaction to the bread or other substances in their sandwiches. “I gave up garlic and my IBS disappeared” “We are constantly being told of the nutritional benefits of garlic and like many people I always included garlic in my cooking. When I took the Alcat Test I was suffering really badly from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and though I tried to determine what might be causing it I would never have come up with garlic as being one of the main culprits. “My Alcat results showed garlic, chilli and beet sugar as being my worst offenders with another list of foods I had a moderate reaction to. As soon as the results arrived I put them into action, removing the offending foods from my diet and within a few days was feeling more energetic and my IBS symptoms simply disappeared.” Maxima Skelton Why use the Alcat Test? The Alcat test mimics as closely as possible the way the body reacts to foods. It actually measures the response of the white blood cells when exposed to each substance. The test shows up food sensitivities that you would not be able to detect yourself. This is because it measures responses that may occur some time after the food is ingested (possibly several days) rather than immediate responses. What happens when you take the test? You will need to have some blood taken at the doctors or a local Nuffield hospital. This will be sent to the laboratory for testing. You will then be sent a list of the foods divided into Red, Yellow and Green. The Green foods are the ones that you had no response to and are therefore completely safe to eat. The Yellow foods should be limited and the Red foods should be avoided. You will also be given a rotation diet to limit your intake of any one substance and give you a clear plan to follow. This makes it very easy to stick to your new regime. A test for 100 British Foods costs £199 and can set you on the right track for a healthier 2007.
