Democracy, Muslim Women’s Rights, and Human Rights in Islam. She is currently authoring a book on the Islamic marriage contract in American courts. She has traveled extensively in the Muslim World and discussed issues that concern Muslim women with their religious and political leaders, and legal scholars.

Dr.Azizah introduced her lecture by informing the audience that the roots of Islam in the U.S. go back to the days of President Thomas Jefferson that used the wisdom presented in the verses of the Quran in drafting the American Constitution. She urged the audience to remember that Islam is a religion of the 21st century and that Muslim women should be proud of their religion and embrace the world with confidence. According to Professor Al-Hibri, “Most of the problems that my fellow Muslim sisters face in the West stem from ignorance. We must therefore educate Non-Muslims about the true nature of our religion.” For more information, please contact: Communications and Public Relations, Tel: 02-636 4300 Ext 1310-1318, Email: Communications&PR@effatcollege.edu.sa
