Effat College rejoiced in the Graduation Ceremony for the class of 2006 on Tuesday, May 15th, 2007 on campus. This event took place under the patronage of HRH Princess Sarah Al Faisal, Chair of Effat College Board of Trustees.HRH Princess Loulwah Al-Faisal ,Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees & the General Supervisor of Effat College, and HRH Prince Turki Al-Faisal,Former Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the U.S. and member of the Effat Board of Trustees ,graced the ceremony with their presence. Mothers of graduating students and Effat personnel also attended this joyful and regal ceremony.
37 graduates and 26 expected graduates participated in the Eighth Graduation Ceremony. In her speech, HRH Princess Sarah Al Faisal congratulated the graduates and advised them “to fear Allah in all your endeavors, and continue pursuing education and knowledge further throughout all your lives.” HRH Prince Turki Al-Faisal spoke to the audience about his mother’s lifelong dream, "Queen Effat” (May God Bless her Soul) of establishing a college for women in Saudi Arabia and his elation that her dream had materialized. Dean of Effat College, Dr.Haifa Jamal Al-Lail presented in her speech a brief summary of Effat College’s achievements over the past seven years. Her advice to the graduates was “take their place in the future world that recognizes pluralism, respects differences, appreciates the other person’s viewpoint and culture, and shuns away from intolerance and stereotypes.” Ms Amal Al Dundarawy, an English Language & Translation graduate who graduated in Fall 2006 with a G.P.A of 3.96 gave a valedictorian address. She thanked her professors for their efforts and thanked Effat College for an exceptional experience. Dr. Rania Ibrahim, Vice Dean for Student Affairs at Effat College, expressed her emotions on this occasion. According to Dr.Rania, “This year’s ceremony is very special because I taught several of the graduates when they were students at the Effat Institute, so I grew with them and I closely tracked their progress and accomplishments.” Dr. Asma Siddiki Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at Effat College congratulated the graduating students and addressed them, “It is true that we as teachers guide and act as mentors, but it is also true that we need inspiration to do so. Thank you for inspiring us.” Ms.Meaad Al-Guthmi, an Information Systems graduate stressed, “I can’t describe my feelings. I am so happy.Effat has equipped me with leadership and communication skills that will make my transition into the real world a smooth one.” Ms. Amira Saleh, an English Language & Translation graduate said, “Effat College forced me to develop my oral presentation skills through the several presentations that I made and motivated me to extend my critical-thinking skills through the meetings that we had with several world leaders that visited Effat.”
