Press Release from:
Definiens
Munich, Germany / Morristown, NJ, USA – Definiens, the number one Enterprise Image Intelligence™ company, today announced the receipt of Frost & Sullivan’s 2007 U.S. Award for Technology Leadership in the high-content screening market. Frost & Sullivan presents this Award to the company that has demonstrated unparalleled excellence for providing innovative and enabling high-content screening technology. The business research and consulting firm has cited Definiens because it excels in all stages of technology life cycle - incubation, adaptation, take-up and maturity – in its efforts to
ensure ongoing technology improvements.
Frost & Sullivan has rewarded Definiens for its innovative technology and the Definiens Cellenger® software used in high-content analysis. Current high-content analysis software provides data based on two dimensional images, while Definiens' technology strategy focuses on developing software that will enable three dimensional (3D) and four dimensional (4D) image analysis. Tracking of cells in 3D over time (i.e., 4D) provides useful data regarding cell morphology and structure, including correlating cell speed changes and movement. With 3D and 4D capabilities, the analysis of cellular processes over time will be possible, a ground-breaking improvement compared to static and flat snapshots provided by 2D. “Part of the Definiens Enterprise Image Intelligence Suite, Definiens Cellenger allows life sciences organizations to speed up the drug development cycle,” notes Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Jonathan Witonsky. “Definiens enables researchers to more efficiently identify and understand the interesting pathways and mechanisms that give rise to the screening responses”. Definiens’ management was delighted to receive the Frost & Sullivan technology leadership award. “To be recognized by Frost & Sullivan for technology leadership demonstrates that we are on track to become the standard in image analysis,” said Greg Calaman, Vice President North American Operations at Definiens when accepting the award at the Growth Excellence Awards Banquet in Monterey, California. “The Frost & Sullivan’s research methodology also reflects the acceptance of the Definiens Enterprise Image Intelligence Suite by our growing base of customers which are solving vast arrays of image analysis problems during all stages of the drug development lifecycle”.
