Press Release from:
Crest Nicholson
Crest Nicholson, one of the East Midlands leading residential developers, has revealed that it has raised its investment in the region to around £60m, creating a built property portfolio of approximately £100m. The announcement comes after a year that has seen land acquisitions double. “We have easily broken company records for acquisitions,” said development director Tim Beale. “But we’re still hungry for suitable sites that we can turn into quality, sustainable communities and keen to do more business. After considerable success in the West Midlands we’re keen to expand further
into the East.”
The news reinforces a diverse portfolio, with many developments in the region’s most sought after villages and many with plots set aside for social housing. The acquisitions will create around 50 jobs across the region, with eight site managers and five sales advisors already appointed this year. Crest Nicholson feel it is incredibly important to tap into local knowledge and experience. The largest development set to commence is to be 72 two, three and four bedroom homes in Ruddington village, south of Nottingham. This new scheme at Camelot Street, close to an existing Crest Nicholson site of 64 homes at Clifton Road, is just 10 minutes drive from Nottingham city centre, while the developments themselves are close to traditional village shops and inside the catchments areas of several comprehensive and independent schools. The next largest development is at the Nottingham suburb of Bramcote, where Crest is building 56 family homes, with a further 22 due for completion at Albermarle Hall, Leicester. A development at Ravenshead, Nottinghamshire will see 24 one, three, four and five bedroom houses. Later this year, the company hopes to obtain planning permission for 115 homes in Ripley, Derbyshire and a further 24 at Burton Joyce. Crest Nicholson feels that its expansion into the East Midlands can bring a quality product that has perhaps previously been missing from the region. The company also believe that with the land teams extensive ‘local’ knowledge they are best placed to select sites - after all, location is everything.
