BerlinActorsMeeting.com - Shoot a spontaneous movie in Berlin!
|
Press Release from:
BerlinActorsMeeting.com
The Idea:
During the Berlinale Festival, actors and filmmakers from all over the world will be in Berlin and could make a short movie – if only they would meet… The BerlinActorsMeeting.com gives this idea a date and a place. Approx. 230 actors will meet interested filmmakers on one day and will be able to directly discuss or realise a spontaneous movie project. The background: During the past 3 Berlinale Festivals, mostly foreign filmmakers kept asking me (Christian Fenner) whether I knew any actors who might feel like making a spontaneous film – the most prominent among them was Askild Edvardsen, the Winner of the Berlinale-Silberner Bär in 2002 [Berlinale Silver Bear Award], whom we were able to help with a short movi! e. Since the foundation of the “berlinale talentcampus”, there have been almost 500 filmmakers from all over the world in Berlin for a couple of days each year, so there is a real demand which has to be satisfied.
As an actor, you have hardly any chances to be creative on a festival, although you are on the same site with thousands of creative people. The same applies to filmmakers. As to the realisation: We are looking for filmmakers who want to make a spontaneous film, and we offer approx. 230 actors who have firmly registered. Each filmmaker who joins us has to commit him or herself in writing to send the recorded and cut film within 5 months to “his” or “her” actors and to inform them in time if the film is shown at festivals etc. Related costs: We require € 10.00 from each filmmaker. All further details will be published under www.berlinactorsmeeting.com. Time and Date: Saturday, February 18th 2006 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Homebase Lounge (K-44) Köthener Str. 44, 10963 Berlin, Germany more infos: info@berlinactorsmeeting.com Taken from two remarkable registrations for a movie direction: “ … A friend of mine told me of your great idea. I am a screenwriter (…) and intended anyway to make a little improvised story with two actor friends. So I would like to apply as an author/director for your project… “ “… This was exactly what I did at the Berlinale 2002 Festival. I made a spontaneous movie with 18 actors with a digital hand camera, everything was improvised, and there was no script at all. The film has been called “VIP Lounge” and was finally completed one year later. It has a length of 66 minutes and has already been shown in various festivals…” ------------------ www.berlinactorsmeeting.com berlin actors meeting christian fenner, organisor tel +49 (0)30 80 93 57 26 fax +49 (0) 48 49 85 210 eMail: info@berlinactorsmeeting.com
