strategic alliances in the lead up to the venue’s premiere for IDEX - one of the world’s largest defence exhibitions, in February 2007. Hundreds of thousands of visitors will to attend exhibitions and conferences in Abu Dhabi during 2007, as the debut of the new Exhibition Centre lures many events to emirate that were previously hosted in other locations.

Commenting on the appointment, Simon Horgan, Chief Executive Officer, ADNEC said, “We are delighted to agree a deal with another of the world’s leading venue service suppliers; this helps meet our objective of providing the Exhibition Centre with the highest standards of quality in every aspect. Our alliance with EFS will provide a total lifecycle of care for the venue.”

“As the most modern exhibition venue in the world, we are committed to raising the bar for the exhibition and conference industry in the region, setting new standards and providing a first-class experience for every visitor, exhibitor and organiser,” Horgan added.

EFS is a global leader in facilities management and is fully established in the Middle East to cater to the increasing demand for integrated facilities and support service solutions within the region. With more than 100 years of experience and a global network of 26,000 employees, the company is well positioned to provide practical expertise in maintaining all facilities at Abu Dhabi’s new state-of-the-art Exhibition Centre.

“Many companies are appreciating the benefits that can be achieved by outsourcing their facilities management requirements as this innovative approach reduces costs, enables the effective management of key employees and subcontractors, provides greater service and quality standards and assurances and essentially provides companies with a competitive advantage,” said Scott Wilson, Managing Director EFS.

“Abu Dhabi is becoming one of the Middle East’s principal exhibition destinations and we look forward to providing first class service to the millions of visitors who will visit the venue in the next few years,” Wilson added.

ADNEC is a key player in the regional exhibitions industry and works in association with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) to promote Abu Dhabi as a premier business and tourism destination. The new National Exhibition Centre is the cornerstone of an extensive strategy aimed at strengthening Abu Dhabi’s profile as the premier destination for the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry in the Middle East.

When complete, Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre will offer 55,000 square meters of interconnecting hall space, 18,000 square metres of air-conditioned concourse, an 8,000 square metres high specification multi-purpose hall for conferences and events, 2,000 square meters of executive office space and a brand new food court making it one of the largest exhibition centres in the Middle East.
