application and more flexibility for these highly specialized devices, targeting the enterprise market, especially retail trade, logistics, warehouse management, and the restaurant and catering industry.

PS113 connects the Citizen POS printers to networks based on IPv4 as well as IPv6. The model is immediately available at a suggested retail price of about 245 Euro excluding taxes. In the strongly growing POS market, conventional, wired data transfer systems are making room for secure Wireless Local Area Networks. This allows a more flexible operation of many applications at the points of sale. Security measures are of the utmost importance because in Wireless LANs, data transmission is entirely via radio waves (ISM band 2.4 GHz). Sensitive data processed by these applications, for example customer credit card information, needs to be protected from unauthorized access.

Secure Data Transmission for POS Printers in WLANs The new PS113 print server features the latest encryption standards and authentication methods based on IEEE 802.1x, which ensure the security of network printing in wireless networks installed at points of sale, restaurants, or warehouses.
